Iconic abstract artist, Ed Moses, made a series of crackle paintings for the SKIN/DEEP show. This series of works treats the surface of the painting as subject, and emphasize Moses’s profound interest in experimentation with the materiality of paint. Ed Moses is one of the original artists associated with the legendary Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles. Specializing in contemporary art, Ferus Gallery was founded in 1957 by curator, Walter Hopps, artist, Ed Kienholz and poet, Bob Alexander.
